Weekend in NYC

Last week, I spent a long weekend in NYC (Manhattan to be specific) visiting my son who lives in the East Village.  A little colder than SoCal (though it didn't snow like this week!), but a very fun place to visit.  We did a lot of walking, some subway riding, and a cab or two.

Here are some views of the four days I was there; not the big tourist attraction landmarks, just some personal impressions.  Enjoy.

East village apartments.

Some of the buildings have names.

Inside Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace Nat'l Historic Site.

Typical sight in Union Square.

This too...

Remnant of original building facade in front of a modern NYU medical center.

Doni's electronic marquis designs for the musical Aladdin.

Manhattan skyline from the flight deck of the Intrepid aircraft carrier.

Subway tiles.

Smiley face building.

Little ducklings.

Loving pigeons a little too much.

Deli time!
