How quickly the year goes by! Every fall I volunteer at Pasadena Heritage's Craftsman weekend Home tour. I'm a big fan of the Arts & Crafts movement that occurred around the turn of the previous century. Bungalows, mission furniture, quarter-sawn oak, Tudor and Spanish revival architecture, hand crafted furnishings. At the Home Tour, they have 5 homes that have been renovated, returning them to their former gleaming glory. I spent a few hours in the living room of one home, giving over a little history and information on the house and it's details. People really enjoy it; they sell close to a thousand tickets to the tour!
I usually work the second of 3 shifts, so I can go on the tour myself beforehand. Here are some photos of houses and details. Enjoy.

Endeavour again... making an ATM stop?
Sorry for the lack of postings - it's been the Jewish holidays and I've just been too busy for photos and blogging! But I thought about it a lot... usually in the middle of meetings or as I'm drifting off to sleep ;)
Endeavour is finally making its move to the LA Science Center (actually, it should be there by now). It left LAX late Thursday night and stopped in a parking lot behind stores on the east side of Sepulveda Blvd at La Tijera for a few hours Friday morning. There's a lot of logistics involved as it crawls along at 2 mph - even though they've done a lot of obstacle-moving ahead of time, they still need to unhook power lines, etc, then reconnect them after the shuttle moves through. Plus they swapped out the transport tractors when they went over the 405 fwy - it was kinda confusing!
Anyway, I went early Friday morning before work to check out the Shuttle (ok, I'm a big fan!). There were lots of other people there, too, and everyone was in a happy, festive mood. Here are a few photos from my space encounter. Enjoy.
PS: Here's a link to the LA Times' time-lapse video of Endeavour's travel through Los Angeles. It's a lot of fun!
