LA Museums

There are a lot of wonderful museums in the Los Angeles area.  This past week I went to both LACMA and the Getty.   The former was for a members only evening to see the Alexander Calder and James Turrell exhibits and the latter was with my sister who is visiting from Montreal to see an exhibit of Queen Victoria's collection of early photographs from the late 1800s.  Oh, and we went back to see the Diane von Furstenberg 40th anniversary of her wrap dress display at LACMA.  Anyway, I feel very cultured :)

Here are a few photos from the museums.  The pictures from LACMA at night were taken with my iPod touch (I'd forgotten my camera) and they came out with a charming pixalated impressionist feeling.  Enjoy.

Hotel Normandie and foggy days

Last Sunday I was at the Hotel Normandie for a volunteer appreciation event for the LA Conservancy, one of the organizations I help out.  The hotel was built back in the 1930s and is being renovated by a new owner.  Before the event, I wandered around and took photos of interesting details.

I'm also including a couple of photos I took last week when we had some fog in the morning and evenings... very mysterious!  Enjoy.
